FOLENS' NOTES

An early copy of Folens' Notes

I am very aware of Folens' Notes because I used them in school. They were in a class way above the traditional cog notes where you just learned everything off by heart and regurgitated it at the exam. As we all knew, exams require regurgitation if you're to get the marks, but it does help if you also have some reasonable understanding of what you are dealing with.

And that, I suspect is where Folens' Notes differed from what came before them. They were not simply designed for regurgitation but also for understanding. They were intelligently compiled and did not contain mistakes.

It appears from what Albert himself discovered that their predecessors were far from mistake free and this is what propelled Albert into producing his own notes, which incidentally took off like a house on fire. An unfortunate comparision in Albert's case but there you are. Who am I to interfere with the creative process.

The example above is not the first ever Folens Notes but certainly an early edition of a purely vocabulary note. Stencilled and with a hand-drawn cover, a book that can certainly be judged by its cover. Lovingly inscribed, no bullshit, just the tin with what it says on it inside.

Thank you Albert.

Get the book.

The book is available to readers in Europe here, and to those outside Europe, and particularly in the USA here
